We don’t know at the start of the season what it is, where it came from, what is its nature. Our heroes are going to have to figure that one out.”

A recently commissioned independent study by CNN*** ranks CNN Arabic against a competitor set as the #1 provider for those who consume news in Arabic and English language from the US and the Middle East. At a time when surveys of Arabic audiences**** show high levels of distrust in news, particular on social media, CNN Arabic has high levels of trust, scoring over three times of the average trust rating***.

“When we launched CNN Arabic 20 years ago, I don’t think anyone envisaged the changes the world would go through over the following two decades,” said Rani Raad, President, CNN Worldwide Commercial. “In that time, the role that the Arabic speaking world plays on the global geo-political landscape has changed significantly, and the UAE, where CNN Arabic is based, has developed as a major strategic player in the global economy. The role of responsible and accurate news brands has become even more important in a world awash with misinformation, and we will continue to serve Arabic speaking audiences around the world with the news they need to inform the most important decisions in their lives.”

To celebrate this milestone in CNN Arabic’s history, the 20th anniversary year kicks off with three new major multi-year partnerships that focus on timely and important topics in the Arab world. CNN Arabic will put the spotlight on stories of female empowerment across business, society, politics and culture, and the continued development of Arab youth and how they are pushing boundaries and reshaping and defining their world.

The partnership with UN Women in the Arab States will combine UN Women’s technical expertise with CNN Arabic’s unique position as a powerful media house with widespread reach. Together they will develop an evidence-based strategy across editorial output, events and other projects to support the acceleration of gender equality, financial inclusion and female employment throughout the Arab world.

The partnership with the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education will see CNN Arabic upskill Emirati and Arab youth over three years with essential competencies to enable them to achieve greater success in the future of work and the sustainability of the UAE and beyond.

In addition, CNN Arabic is embarking on a partnership with Sharjah Press Club to train young journalists over the next three years in a range of areas covering multi-media news and content production. The training will also extend to teaching teenagers about use of social media and identifying misinformation.

“We are incredibly proud to have provided independent news with a global perspective to Arab audiences for 20 years now,” said Caroline Faraj, Vice President of Arabic Services at CNN, who has led CNN Arabic since its inception, and in 2021 was named winner of the media category in the Arab Women of the Year Awards. “However, we never want to stand still – as a digital news service from the very outset, it’s in our DNA to always evolve and experiment in order to remain relevant as people’s news habits continue to change. Looking ahead, as we enter our 21st year, people can expect CNN Arabic to tell important stories, particularly around female empowerment and the Arab youth, in new, dynamic ways with editorial content underpinned and informed by the new partnerships we are announcing with UN Women in the Arab States, Al Ghurair Foundation and the Sharjah Press Club.”

Meet Madeleine McCann, The Inspiration Behind Telemundo's Where Is Elisa? And The Search For Frida

Also Read

The McCann family went on vacation, along with seven other adults and their children to Praia De Luz, Portugal. The resort in which they were staying at was described as a "boring concrete jungle infested with snobbish locals".

The families all stayed in the same apartment complex. It was a three story building with the McCann staying in the ground floor room, 5A. Madeleine slept in the bed nearest to the window while her two year old twin siblings slept in travelling cots.

In May 3, 2007 at approximately 8.30pm Madeleine and her younger siblings were put to bed. The adults left their children in the hotel and went to the resort's tapas bar 155 feet from the hotel. It was so close that every so often the adults would take turns checking on the kids.

At 9.05pm, Gerry McCann checked on the children. He noticed the door had been open wider than it had been when he left. At 9.15pm, a friend of the McCann's Matthew Oldfield checked the McCann apartment and saw the twins sleeping but didn't remember if he saw Madeline.

Madeleine's bed was next to the cottage where the twins were sleeping so there's no way he could have seen the twins without seeing her.

Also at 9.15pm, a McCann friend named Jane Turner went to check on her children and noticed a man walking with a child in his arms. At 10.00pm, an Irish family vacationing in the resort saw a man carrying a child in the beach.

Also at 10.00pm, Kate McCann went to check on her children. Madeleine was no longer in bed. Kate ran back to the tapas bar, leaving her twins in their cots and yelled "THEY'VE TAKEN MADELEINE".

There's been a very theories regarding this situation: An intruder, a driver, murdered and sold.

The first theory an intruder, Kate McCann said when she arrived at the apartment at 10pm she knew a crime had been committed because Madeleine was put to sleep with her favourite stuffed animal named Cuddlecat which had been moved out of Madeleine's reach.

She didn't think Madeleine had just wandered off without her favourite stuffed animal so she believed it was an abduction. Burglaries and robberies had increased in the area a month prior to their visit to the resort.

It was suspected that a burglar came in through the patio door in which the parents had used to check on the kids and where Madeleine was sleeping nearest to. The burglar came in to rob the place and Madeleine woke up so he took her and the man on the beach was a suspect.

It's also suspected that Madeleine may have been abducted by a gang of pedophiles. A couple years prior to her disappearance, a 10 year old girl was sexually assaulted by a pedophile gang in the same apartment complex the McCanns were staying in.

On top of that, the day prior to Madeleine's disappearance two men were seen around the resort pretending to be charity workers and going door to door to get guests to donate. They were spotted many times at the day of the disappearance between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

Finally it's been speculated that two blonde man abducted Madeleine as there was seen at the resort and spoke in Dutch. They were staying in the room above the McCanns and were believed to be looking for a child to give to a wealthy family.

The man on the beach would have been the biggest clue. If he did take her, there could have been a fishing boat or a privately owned boat he took her onto and would have been the last anyone would have seen of Madeleine.

The second theory a driver, it was suggested that Madeleine woke up and went to find her parents. She wondered out the patio door and into the streets of the resorts there she was struck and possible abducted but her prints would have been spotted or the one of the adults would have seen her.

The third theory is murder, it was believed that Madeleine was murdered by her own parents. Firstly her Mon said they took Madeline almost like she knew something and the McCanns weren't searching for Madeleine.

They searched the apartment, tapas bar and beach and went to sleep. They didn't search until 6 the next morning. Kate reported Madeleine missing around 10pm but refused to answer the questions of authorities and was told she was damaging the case.

Kate and Gerry McCann tried suing the detective in charge of their daughter's case. The police decided to recreate the crime scene and the parents of Madeleine didn't attend despite being asked to.

Gerry claimed he didn't leave the tapas bar for 5 minutes but a friend of his claimed Kate was moaning about him being gone for a long time for a football game making his alibi weak. The Irish family which spotted a man at the beach were 80% certain that it was Gerry.

The McCanns also lied to their friends at home in the UK. They told them the window was shattered and Madeleine was taken through the window but the lawyer reported no such thing.

A couple days after the disappearance, a friend of the McCanns told the police that she witnessed Gerry and David Payne talk very sexually and make sexual gestures about Madeleine.

The day after the disappearance, an England CPS employee named Yvonne Martin offered Kate her services. Kate said Madeleine was kidnapped by a couple despite there being no evidence.

Yvonne was present at the resort as she was vacationing. She was speaking to the family when David Payne whispered in Gerry's war and to her surprise her services were no longer needed and she filed a report to have the family investigated.

She claimed that David was wearing the same clothes as the man from the beach. A fund of donations was set up to help find Madeleine and the family used it to pay their mortgage.

On May 29th, weeks after Madeleine's disappearance her parents left their other two children in the apartment where she was kidnapped with a nanny as they traveled to Europe for a tour.

During that tour, Kate described Madeleine in the past tense almost as if she's dead despite there being no evidence and kept her favourite doll as it contained her scent.

17 days before police brought canines to the crime scene. Kate washed the doll further destroying evidence that could lead them to the culprit and tarnished her alibi.

The police had one dog which detected blood on Madeline's toys, behind the apartment couch, the patio door, the wardrobe, the rental car key and the car itself.

The cadaver found the scent of death in the wardrobe, the patio, behind the couch, the steps leading down the patio, the bedroom, the back garden, two pieces of Kate's clothing and one of Madeleine's T-shirt and even the doll.

And out of every car in the parking garage, the dogs only alerted one which was the McCann's rental car. They found a scent of blood and death on the trunk.

There's a theory that Madeleine was a pawn to her parents for trafficking. In her mother's book she talks about her genitals. In a deleted video, her father is her twirl and do all kinds of stuff saying Ahh yes and smile for daddy.

Her parents were told not to share photos of her daughter to the media as it will show her eye deformity therefore scary the kidnappers to kill her. Gerry was caught saying this would be a good marketing ploy.

A famous chef named Sir Clement Freud lived close to the resort. It wouldn't be a big deal if he wasn't a pedophile. Two months after Madeleine's disappearance, her parents were invited to his house and were invited again but couldn't attend as they were suspects.

Sum it up: her parents are believed to be prime suspects in her disappearance out of all the goons that surrounded that resort. It was theorized that they planned her disappearance and her possible death wasn't part of the plan.

Nickelodeon is not done with Henry Danger just yet

Nickelodeon announced it has signed an overall deal with actor and executive producer Jace Norman (Henry Danger). Nickelodeon will work with Norman and his production company, Starlight, to develop, executive produce and star in new and original content for ViacomCBS companies.

As part of the partnership, Norman will reprise his role as "Henry Hart/Kid Danger" in a new, original live-action movie for Paramount+, based off Nickelodeon's hit series Henry Danger.

News of a possible film occurred in 2017 when Nickelodeon announced plans to launch a film based on Henry Danger which later got scrapped now it's being revived for streaming.

It wouldn't surprise me if they made a live-action series based on adult version of his character.

We're getting more Degrassi

WarnerMedia Kids & Family announced it has greenlit Degrassi, a brand-new version of WildBrain's award-winning youth franchise of the same name. The new teen and family series helmed by showrunners Lara Azzopardi (The Bold Type) and Julia Cohen (Riverdale and A Million Little Things) will include 10 hour-long episodes and is expected to launch in the US exclusively on HBO Max in 2023.

Additionally, HBO Max has picked up the U.S. rights for the entire 14-season library of the franchise's longest running and most popular installment, Degrassi: The Next Generation which will become available on the platform this spring. Degrassi will also become available at a later date on Cartoon Network.

The French animated series’ former storyboard coordinator and creator of “Miraculous Ladybug” Thomas Astruc broke the news on Twitter.

Responding to users’ questions, the animator clarified that he isn’t involved in the project itself, as he came across the info through a job opening in a professional group.

Sam, Clover, and Alex’s spy adventures first came into our TV screens back in 2001, which followed the three girls’ double lives as high school students and undercover agents. The show’s last episode aired in 2013 for season 6.

What Really Happened To VH1 Classic On DStv And Where Is It Now?

Also Read

The popular music brand VH1 Classic started out mainly consisting of niche genres which didn't appease the masses at the time which led to its downfall on DStv and the switch to VH1 Classic.

At the time this channel was still around, they were plenty of channels offering international hits mainly modern day music before localising their offering which welcomed a new rail of viewers while others resorted to other means like streaming to cater for their tastes.

In all those eras, VH1 Classic stood out from the rest with their selection of international classic hits while Mzansi Music dealt with the local spectrum.

It wasn't until 2019 that ViacomCBS announced the discontinuation of VH1 Classic and the launch of the European MTV Music24 which therefore killed all their classical tunes for more modernizing.

It wasn't until that period that most channels which had a stack of international hits reduced the lineup for more localised tunes therefore boosting the value of MTV Music24 which doesn't cater for that region as it adapting to a European feed.

MTV Music24 wasn't all rainbows and sunshine aside from not carrying any fragment of VH1 Classic. The offering was very repetitive and they'd repeat the same music in the same order it was arranged and this continued on until last year where it was replaced with the pop based brand MTV Hits.

When VH1 Classic was terminated people pointed the finger toward DStv and when MTV Hits dethroned MTV Music24 there was a lot of silence in the switch as well as the reception. What some don't realise was that there was more to the story.

Tracing back to VH1 Classic, the channel was handled by Europe which used it as an entertainment channel to repeat programs from MTV. Africa got a different feed for some apparent reason.

In 2016, the owners of VH1 being announced that VH1 Classic would rebrand to MTV Classic as it was suspected that VH1 was being terminated internationally seeing that it was a property of MTV. Of course, this switch wasn't applicable to viewers in South Africa.

VH1 Classic was initially discontinued in 2016 so the feed in South Africa was just on autopilot for the past 3 years as they tried sourcing out the major reject MTV Music24.

MTV Music24 vanished two years later and if you google the channel. It appears that the brand was phased out likely as part of the initiative for MTV Global formerly MTV Europe which is limiting the localised feeds probably due to the launch of Paramount+.

Disney plans to close 100 international channels in the near future following the successful launch of their streaming service Disney+. It had been speculated that other companies will likely follow at a given time.

About VH1 Classic, the channel is currently known as MTV Classic I presume the reason it wasn't picked up in Africa was that ViacomCBS was looking for something that appease the current masses and anything like MTV Classic didn't fit that description.

MTV Classic has become a dumpster fire with its stack of repeats pulling 16000 viewers a month in a market with a large amount of pay-tv households. ViacomCBS no longer shares details about the viewership and I wouldn't be shocked if the channel was discontinued with nothing left in place.

Disney Will Cease Broadcast Of Disney XD, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Kids, FX Movies And Star Life In Latin America With Disney Junior In Brazil

Also Read

With the arrival of Disney+, the mouse company was highly motivated in the last couple of years to exterminate its existing pay television channels around the world in order to benefit its subscription streaming platform.

With the announcement given in mid-2021 by the CEO of the company Bob Chapek in which 100 international casualties were promised, it was a matter of time for this mass murder to affect Latin America and it seems that Disney will finally play its cards in the region.

Initially, the company did not make major changes in the television field than to change the name of the Fox channels, replacing it with the Star brand for legal reasons, drastically modify the content broadcast on its main children's channels (to enhance the one that is already on demand on Disney+), and reducing the signals available in the territory (the so-called 'feeds'), in addition to a notable lack of interest in their maintenance and promotion.

These last three events were enough evidence to begin to think that Disney was already planning the worst for many of these channels that suffered these dreaded consequences, especially since, certainly, they became useless signals by having taken a good portion of their programming for to make it exclusive to Disney+, and what was left on broadcast was already distributed on said platform.

It should also be remembered that, in August 2021, Disney launched the Star+ service, in an attempt to earn more money with two different platforms, significantly affecting the channels of a more mature audience, such as the Star Channel itself, than during Its advertising strategy promised to maintain the same programming as always, but only half a year later it aggressively reduced the daily broadcasts of The Simpsons, its star series, among other changes that made the star's service not to the liking of consumers.

This also hurt Star Premium channels (i.e.,  Star Hits, Star Series, Star Action, Star Comedy, Star Fun, Star Cinema, and Star Classics ), whose programming became repetitive and not at all innovative as for a premium television package., a market quite obsolete today but that HBO manages to keep current with premieres and original productions, which ended up digging Star Premium's own grave after so many years on the air.

And that is how it can be confirmed that the company will also end Disney XD, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Kids, FX Movies and Star Life in Latin America and Disney Junior in Brazil at the moment. All these channels, whose course could already be foreseen for months, will be discontinued as of March 31 2022, thus adding to the aforementioned signals belonging to the Star Premium group, which will say goodbye at the end of this month : January 31st.

In the case of Disney XD, its end in Latin America was something that viewers were rumored for 2 years, after the announcement of the channel ceasing its broadcasts in India to be replaced by a Marvel-themed signal (the famous ' Marvel HQ ' , which in any case was already discontinued on December 1 with almost 2 years on the air), added to several international versions of the channel that said goodbye during this time without having any kind of substitute.

This information initially came from a letter from Disney sent to a cable operator last Wednesday, December 22, but which came to light on the morning of this Monday, January 10, in a portal post, remaining as a rumor until hours later. it was finally confirmed and it is already a true fact. All the channels already officially named have their days numbered.

Cartoon Network Studios unveiled their new logo

Cartoon Network has always been a channel for change with a new lineup of shows every year to attract an audience. While the shows don't possess the same spark as those seen in the 2000s.

The logo remained consistent over the years but this time that seemingly wasn't the case as seen above. The logo for their studios has changed seeming more comedic which seems to be the new direction for the channel.

Compare the logos you can see the word studios is close to each other aside from the font being changed even the colours of the font and squared box have been inverted.

As much as people resent this logo which will likely be applied to the linear channel I do see this logo as a glimmer of hope for the channel which has been padded with Teen Titans GO! for the past decade.

Cartoon Network is building their family and female skewed offering and this logo kind of fits with their plans for the future. Change is constant and we won't always enjoy it but any change that equals to less TTG is good in my books.

Xtreme Football League Founded By WWE's Very Own Vince McMahon Returns In 2023 And WWE Nearly Sold To FOX

The revived XFL series commence in 2023

Xtreme Football League (XFL) is a professional American football league founded by wrestling executive Vince McMahon in 2018, as a reboot and successor to the league of the same name he founded in 2001.

McMahon re-founded the XFL to create a league with fewer off-field controversies and faster, simpler play compared to the National Football League (NFL), as well as one without the professional wrestling–inspired features and entertainment elements of its predecessor.

The first season of XFL began on February 8, 2020. The league planned to have a ten-week regular season through April 12, with division championships April 18 and 19, with the XFL Championship scheduled for April 26.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the XFL announced that the league would be cancelling the rest of the season, ahead of the league's suspension of operations and bankruptcy filing a month later.

On December 2, 2021, it was revealed on Dany Garcia's Instagram page that the 2023 XFL season would start on February 18, 2023, along with Training Camp in January 2023, as well as a player combine in June 2022.

XFL was distributed by a lot of Disney stations including ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 with Fox, FS1, FS2 being retained by the FOX Corporation. Perhaps ESPN or SuperSport will pick up the new season in 2023.

WWE wanted to be purchased several years ago

Ex-WWE creative team member Freddie Prinze Jr told the media that FOX turned down the chance to buy the company outright back when they were negotiating terms to air SmackDown.

According to one of Prinze Jr's friends, who works as an executive at FOX, Vince McMahon's asking price was just too high - the network knocked back the chance to pursue a full purchase, and instead decided to license SmackDown for a still-hefty sum.

There had been chatter back in 2019 about FOX potentially moving to buy WWE, but it's incredible to hear that McMahon was so willing to cede control of his baby. Freddie also said that he'd been sitting on that story for a while, but couldn't resist telling it "because it has been long enough" since FOX were in the running.

Older wrestling fans may still struggle with the thought of Vince selling WWE. There was a time when that seemed impossible, but it's interesting to learn that he has a (rather high) figure in mind for the organisation.

That number was definitely too big for FOX.
