🔹️ The confrontation between Ernesto and San GenÃs quickly becomes personal. Ernesto accuses San GenÃs of being careless with Blanca while pursuing evidence against Domenica. Before Nieves can say much, Kiara appears and claims Max's necklace simply broke and she was trying to repair it. Pilar makes it clear that she doesn't understand Kiara's recent behavior, particularly taking Luis Fernando in while knowing how much it would hurt Domenica. Kiara insists that her dealings with Max are only about recovering the money he took, but Pilar tells her she knows that isn't the entire truth because Domenica has already revealed Kiara's feelings for Luis Fernando. When Kiara asks for Max's necklace back, Pilar refuses and insists they will return it to him together at La Abandonada.
🔹️ At Gabriel's shop, Luis Fernando and San GenÃs drink together while Luis explains Domenica's reaction to discovering he has been staying at the community center. San bluntly tells him that losing Domenica is his own fault. Luis admits he intends to find somewhere else to stay the following day, although he doubts his relationship with Domenica can survive everything that has happened—especially with Max constantly between them. As if summoned by his name, Max suddenly appears and mocks Luis for being a doctor who is drinking his problems away. Later, Domenica returns home and finds everyone gathered as Nicolasa excitedly announces that Prudencio has proposed to her. Everyone celebrates and congratulates her, although Nicolasa worries about how Pedro will react. Genaro angrily reminds Max that they are not so different: both are pursuing Domenica for their own reasons, except Max disguises his intentions behind pretty words and deception. After Genaro leaves, Max receives a call from Rafael and asks whether he has told Gilberto exactly what he needs him to do.
🔹️ Back at La Abandonada, Domenica tells Andres and Nicole that she intends to speak with Pedro about his attitude toward Prudencio. Whatever disagreements exist within the family, she believes Nicolasa and Prudencio's engagement deserves to be celebrated. Their conversation is suddenly interrupted by Ernesto rushing into the house, breathless and calling Domenica's name. He announces the incredible news: Gilberto has dropped his lawsuit against her. Andres immediately realizes what this means—Domenica can finally regain access to her frozen money.
🔹️ At Espejo de Luna, Mercedes notices Diana repeatedly glancing at her while they work in the kitchen. Diana explains that she only gives her that look whenever Mercedes refuses to accept that actions have consequences. Annoyed, Mercedes sends her away. Moments later, Adelaida arrives, startling Mercedes and causing her to accidentally cut herself while chopping vegetables. Mercedes angrily questions where she has been, and Adelaida explains that she went to La Abandonada to speak with Pedro about Prudencio's plans to marry Nicolasa. Mercedes is completely stunned by the news.
🔹️ While Domenica's family is still trying to understand why Gilberto suddenly dropped the lawsuit, Max arrives carrying a bottle of wine. When Domenica asks exactly what he did, Max insists that nothing illegal happened and suggests they toast while he explains his strategy. Prudencio firmly reminds her that his personal life has nothing to do with his employment. 🔹️ Back at La Abandonada, Max explains that his team uncovered damaging evidence against Gilberto, leaving him with no choice but to withdraw the lawsuit. Everyone is stunned and relieved, and even Domenica sincerely thanks Max for helping her. As everyone rises to celebrate the victory with a toast, Luis Fernando unexpectedly arrives. However, instead of announcing himself, he remains hidden behind the pillars at the entrance to the living room, silently watching Domenica and her family celebrate with Max.

♡ Still at La Abandonada, after hearing Domenica say she is glad Max is there, Luis tries to leave quietly. Unfortunately, Ernesto spots him and immediately calls out to him, drawing everyone's attention. Nicole almost reveals the reason for their celebration, but Domenica quickly stops her, saying there is no need to explain anything. Luis agrees, saying he never asked for an explanation and had only stumbled upon their celebration and wanted to congratulate Domenica now that her innocence has been proven. Max cannot resist making a comment of his own, pointing out that although everyone hoped Domenica was innocent, Luis certainly wasn't among those who truly believed her. Andres suggests they continue the conversation in Domenica's office, but Luis refuses and leaves. Outside, Genaro leans against the wall and mocks Luis for doubting Domenica, even demanding an apology for everything Luis previously accused him of. Furious, Luis tells him to leave him alone, gets into his car, and drives away. Meanwhile, Ernesto confronts Max over his unnecessary comments to Luis, but Max tells him he is in no position to judge him before walking away. Ernesto later tells Andres that something is clearly going on and worries that Max could take advantage of Domenica while she is emotionally vulnerable. Andres, however, trusts Domenica to make her own decisions and reminds Ernesto that there will still be an investigation.
♡ At the Mirror Estate, Prudencio and Mercedes' argument reaches its breaking point. Prudencio makes it clear that Nicolasa is the woman he should never have forgotten and openly declares how much he loves her. Mercedes angrily tells him she no longer wants to see him anywhere on her land, and Prudencio calmly accepts her decision. He later tells Adelaida that he has been fired and that they will have to move out. Worried, Adelaida asks where they will go and how he intends to find another job. Prudencio reassures her that he has some savings that can temporarily pay for an inn and friends who may be willing to offer him work.
♡ At the community center, Kiara and Silvia celebrate the fact that Kiara's plans appear to be back on track. Seeing how disappointed Luis is with Domenica, Kiara believes it is only a matter of time before she gets him under her spell. Silvia praises her but warns that she needs to get back on Domenica's good side after boldly admitting that she intends to pursue Luis. Kiara instead tells Silvia to concentrate on Pedro. Their attention is soon drawn downstairs when Osvaldo arrives with a bouquet of flowers for Nieves. Silvia immediately pulls out her phone, intending to record everything and show Pedro. Nieves happily accepts the flowers but reminds Osvaldo that they are not a couple. Osvaldo then gets down on one knee and asks her to become his girlfriend. Nieves accepts, and the two kiss. Unfortunately, Pedro walks in at that exact moment. Furious, he grabs Osvaldo by the collar, forcing Silvia and Kiara to rush downstairs. Silvia pulls Pedro away and tries to calm him, while Kiara warns Osvaldo that whatever he and Nieves want to do should happen outside the community center. Outside, Silvia comforts Pedro, telling him that while Nieves has chosen someone who buys her flowers, Pedro gave her something more valuable—his heart. Afterwards, an anxious Blanca retreats to her desk, where San arrives to drop off a file. Blanca treats him coldly, but before leaving, San asks how things are going with her new boyfriend. Blanca bluntly replies that Ernesto isn't her boyfriend—and neither is San. She then reveals that she knows San and Ernesto made a bet over who could win her over. San admits the bet happened but insists it was Ernesto's idea. He tries convincing Blanca that his feelings for her are genuine, even joking that for her he would dress entirely in white and grow wings if necessary. San then kisses her. When Prudencio asks for her blessing, Domenica tells him he doesn't need it and should speak with Andres instead. All she asks is that he make Nicolasa the happiest woman alive.

Pedro initially makes a bitter remark about Prudencio leaving despite his closeness to Mercedes, prompting Adelaida to warn him that if he intends to be rude, she will find somewhere else to stay too. Meanwhile, at Gabriel's shop, Gabriel finds books with titles about becoming an independent woman and learning to say no to men. Blanca suggests that she speak with San instead, prompting Ernesto to sarcastically ask whether San has now solved all of Blanca's problems before leaving. Herminia notices Blanca's unusual mood, and Blanca explains her romantic troubles. Herminia bitterly jokes that at least Blanca has men who consider her a prize, while her own husband treats her as though she is worthless. She then reveals that she wants a divorce. Later, she meets San at a café. San initially advises her to report the domestic violence so the authorities can investigate before she proceeds with the divorce. Herminia refuses because she doesn't want her children believing she sent their father to prison. San therefore suggests another legal route, which she agrees to pursue.
♡ Elsewhere, San confronts Mercedes about Luis leaving home. He tells her that, as his mother, she shouldn't be fighting with her son and should instead be trying to make peace with him and bring him back. Mercedes coldly tells San that he has no right to interfere in her personal life. San disagrees, arguing that as Luis' loyal friend and close associate, his wellbeing concerns him too. Meanwhile, Gabriel confronts Genaro and demands that he leave Osvaldo alone because he knows Genaro is using him. Genaro replies that Gabriel betrayed him and says that if using Osvaldo proves useful, perhaps he might eventually forgive him. When Gabriel demands to know what it will take for Genaro to leave his family alone, Genaro gives him a chilling answer—everything Gabriel has.

As the evidence exposes serious inconsistencies in Max’s past, he is visibly shaken while Domenica is left stunned by the possibility that the man she trusted may be an impostor.
Episode 42
◇ When Max and Domenica return to La Abandonada, Ernesto and Andres are waiting with shocking information. They reveal that their investigation shows Max never came from the Costa Rican orphanage supposedly owned by the Langer Guerrera de la Vega couple—and, even worse, his real name isn't Max Langer. Domenica is stunned, while Max is clearly caught off guard. When she asks Ernesto how he discovered this, he explains that he hired a private detective. Ernesto immediately tries to confront Max, but Domenica stops him. This time, she wants to hear Max's explanation herself and demands the complete truth. However, Max soon leaves without properly clearing everything up. Meanwhile, Pilar waits for an answer after confronting Luis and Kiara. Luis explains that Kiara was only trying to be honest about her feelings and insists that their kiss was a mistake that meant nothing to him. Kiara tries to put a different meaning on what happened, but Pilar reminds her that Luis has already made himself clear. She warns Kiara that holding onto the kiss will only give her false hope, but Kiara replies that, for now, that little bit of hope is enough for her to live on. After their argument continues for some time, Luis asks Pilar not to worry. He knows Domenica has already made peace with Max and that the two have grown close again. He also says he has been sincere with Kiara and doesn't want to hurt her. He asks that they continue the discussion another time, and Pilar eventually agrees and leaves. Elsewhere in the fields, Prudencio and Pedro eat together while Prudencio mentions that someone once approached him with a proposal to conduct business behind Luis's back.
◇ At City Hall, San visits Blanca while she is working and places a gift on her desk. Blanca tells him he doesn't need to give her anything, but San insists that she accept it. After teasing each other, he cheekily asks for a kiss as motivation, and Blanca gives him a quick peck before they continue talking. Their moment is interrupted when Genaro arrives and asks to see the female mayor.Back at La Abandonada, Domenica tells Nicolasa everything that has happened before their conversation turns to the awkward encounter between Domenica and Luis at the church. Meanwhile, Genaro meets Fuensanta in her office. After helping himself to a drink, he talks about Cosme's death and remarks that Cosme left this world trying to achieve something for himself, leaving Fuensanta to clean up the mess. Furious at his attitude, Fuensanta throws her drink on him and tells him to come back down to earth. She warns him that she hates his authoritative tone. Genaro reminds her that he, Fuensanta and Cosme were all responsible for getting her into the presidency, but Fuensanta fires back that Genaro's annoying habits and carelessness nearly cost her the position. From now on, he will do things properly or discover just how badly things can end between them. Before Genaro leaves, Fuensanta asks what he has actually achieved besides acting important at La Abandonada. Genaro proudly informs her that he is now the administrator of La Abandonada, personally appointed by Domenica, and has access to and control over the estate's accounts. Fuensanta admits that this information is at least useful. Their conversation becomes flirtatious when she describes herself as more of a lover than a warrior, but she immediately stops Genaro from taking it any further, especially in front of her late husband's urn. She dismisses him, but not before secretly instructing him to come to her house at 11 p.m.
◇ Elsewhere, Herminia meets San at a café and tells him about her problems with Gabriel, including his threat to throw her out and leave her with nothing. San offers to speak to Gabriel on her behalf, but Herminia begs him not to, explaining that Gabriel isn't exactly reasonable when it comes to emotions. As San holds her hand supportively, Osvaldo arrives with Nieves and immediately notices their closeness. He angrily confronts them, only for Herminia to explain that she is meeting San because she wants a divorce. Osvaldo shows little concern, saying he doesn't care whether his parents stay together or separate, before taking Nieves away. Later, Domenica visits Genaro at his quarters carrying a laptop. She gives it to him, explaining that she no longer uses it and that he can use it to organize his work. Genaro is deeply touched and claims nobody has ever simply given him something like that before. Noticing that something is bothering her, he asks what happened. Domenica only says she has a personal matter to resolve. After she leaves, Genaro quietly tells himself that he hopes she resolves it quickly because he is there for her.
◇ Andres finishes a sweet phone conversation with Pilar while Prudencio listens from nearby. Impressed by Andres's romantic words, Prudencio asks if he could teach him a few phrases to use on Nicolasa. Andres happily agrees and offers him a little book he uses for inspiration. Their conversation then turns serious when Prudencio mentions checking the coffee seedlings and plantation. Although everything appears fine, he suggests bringing in an agronomist like they used to do at the Mirror estate and remembers Elisa Montes, who previously helped with the bean plantation. Andres reveals that they already have an agronomist from San Felipe named Omar Valdes, who has been working with them since Genaro arrived. Prudencio's expression immediately changes. He asks how long Omar has been advising them about the land, and Andres confirms that he has been doing so since Genaro's arrival. Their conversation is interrupted when Ernesto rushes in to remind Andres about a meeting in five minutes with potential buyers for the coffee harvest. Prudencio thanks Andres for the book and leaves. Minutes later, Prudencio immediately rides out to find Pedro in the fields. He reveals that Omar Valdes is the same engineer working for La Abandonada and suspects that Omar may have made Genaro the same offer he once made Prudencio,to conduct business secretly behind the owner's back. Pedro suggests telling Domenica immediately, but Prudencio says they first need proof. Genaro always finds a way to manipulate situations and escape blame. Pedro points to the fake-deed scandal, which ultimately ended with the late mayor taking responsibility. However, Prudencio admits that, after everything he has now learned, he is beginning to doubt that version of events. Pedro then asks what they should do next.
◇ At Gabriel's shop, Osvaldo tells his father that he has heard about Herminia wanting a divorce. Gabriel immediately wants to know whether Herminia told him and whether she revealed anything else, but Osvaldo says he doesn't care whether Gabriel agrees to the divorce or not. He also suggests Gabriel should focus on getting himself together because everyone seems to be abandoning ship. When Nieves arrives, Osvaldo explains that he brought her there hoping to impress her and tells Gabriel to take care of them properly. Gabriel refuses to make a fool of himself for his son and eventually walks away, while Osvaldo invites Nieves to sit and order whatever she wants. At the community center, Luis finishes examining a patient named Fressia and gives her a list of medications. Although the consultation is free, the grateful woman insists on giving him three eggs as payment. Kiara watches from the doorway. Once the patient leaves, Kiara approaches Luis and asks if they can talk, but Maria suddenly arrives wanting to speak with him. Kiara reluctantly excuses herself. While making coffee, Luis listens as Maria explains that she has enrolled in preparatory classes and wants to know what she should expect if she hopes to become a doctor someday. Meanwhile, Pedro asks Domenica if he can continue learning new things now that he knows how to read and write. Domenica happily offers to teach him herself, but Pedro says he doesn't want to burden her because she is already busy and suggests that someone else could teach him.
◇ When Kiara returns, she is surprised to find Maria still with Luis. Maria casually tells her that she will probably be seeing much more of her. Luis then reveals that because Kiara has been so busy, he has decided to take Maria under his wing and allow her to assist him. Kiara forces an awkward smile before questioning Maria about her classes and whether her parents know what she is doing. Maria explains that classes haven't started yet and that she will organize her schedule when they do. Luis actually thanks Kiara for reminding him about Maria's parents and decides to personally speak with them. Meanwhile, Pedro visits Genaro at his quarters and informs him that he will be working alongside him. Genaro tells him not to bother, but Pedro makes it clear that the instruction came directly from Domenica. Domenica eventually meets Max again and finally gets part of the truth about his identity. He reveals that his real name is Martin Gonzales Lopez and that he was born in Mexico City. He claims he changed his identity because of certain business dealings that could put his life in danger. Domenica is shaken by everything she is hearing, but she refuses to accept another story without evidence. She tells Max plainly that he must never come to see her again unless he brings documents or proof supporting everything he has just told her.
◇ Luis accompanies Maria home to speak with her parents. However, Kiara secretly calls Gabriel first and tells him what is happening, warning him that he must stop Maria from returning to the community center. At Gabriel's shop, with Herminia also present, Maria sits crying as Luis calmly tries to explain why he wants to help her pursue her dream. Gabriel refuses to agree. After Luis leaves, an emotional Maria tells Gabriel that she hates him, while Herminia also gives her husband a piece of her mind. Once everyone is gone, Gabriel reluctantly pulls out his phone, calls Kiara and tells her that he has done exactly what she asked. Elsewhere, Kiara sees Silvia heading out and learns that she is going to visit Pedro. Back at La Abandonada, Domenica sits alone looking through photographs of Luis on her phone. Still emotional over everything between them, she eventually decides to go out after already telling the family what Max has confessed about his true identity.
◇At the Mirror estate, Mercedes suddenly develops a fever. Diana calls Luis, who quickly comes home to examine his mother. However, mother and son still end up arguing, leaving Luis feeling guilty afterward. Domenica, meanwhile, wanders alone through the woods, unaware that someone is secretly following and watching her. She eventually reaches the riverside and sits with her feet moving through the water while the mysterious person continues observing her from a distance. When Domenica finally gets up to leave, disaster strikes. She twists her ankle, hits her head and falls unconscious into the water. Suddenly, Genaro emerges and rushes to rescue her. Completely drenched, he pulls the unconscious Domenica from the water and looks down at her emotionally. Believing she cannot hear him, Genaro finally reveals the depth of his obsession, whispering, “Boss, if only you knew how much I love you.”And while Domenica remains unconscious and completely unaware of what is happening, Genaro leans down and kisses her.
Episode 43
🔹️ Still at the lagoon, Domenica regains consciousness in Genaro’s arms after he kissed her while she was unconscious and whispered that he loved her deeply. Upon waking, Domenica is alarmed to find him leaning uncomfortably close to her. Genaro claims that he followed her merely to protect her from snakes, but Domenica immediately moves away from him. Holding the side of her head in pain, she struggles to crawl out of the lagoon. Some minutes later at La Abandonada, Domenica remains suspicious of Genaro, especially since he previously confessed his feelings for her. Deeply disturbed, she tells Nicolasa everything that happened and reveals that she wants to dismiss him. However, Nicolasa advises her to wait until she has proof of his wrongdoing.
Meanwhile, at his house, Genaro privately admits feeling some guilt over everything he has stolen from Domenica, yet he continues to justify his obsession with her and his manipulative behaviour. At the same time, Prudencio discovers suspicious receipts showing that Genaro has been charging the estate for excessive quantities of animal feed and construction materials that were never used. Later, while discussing the matter with Pedro, Prudencio warns him that once Genaro transfers all the financial records onto one computer, proving the theft may become almost impossible.
🔹️ San GenÃs informs Herminia that he has negotiated with Gabriel concerning the divorce and division of their property. He offers to represent her free of charge while openly flirting with her. When a jealous Blanca interrupts them, San GenÃs deliberately invites her for ice cream to calm the jealous behaviour Herminia has already noticed. Although Herminia pretends not to care, his actions clearly irritate her. Elsewhere, on his phone call with his partner, Max continues creating a false financial profile using cryptocurrency to deceive Domenica. However, Mercedes’s complaint against him remains active under his real identity. Max’s partner informs him that he intends to abandon him, claiming that he is fleeing the country using false documents supplied by Adrian Augusto. He therefore leaves Max behind to face the consequences of his obsession with Domenica.
🔹️ At Gabriel’s house, MarÃa confronts her mother for failing to secure her a job with Doctor Luis. However, Herminia reveals that she is finalising her divorce from MarÃa’s father and is prepared to leave the marriage without any money. Despite MarÃa’s sadness, Herminia embraces her and promises never to abandon her. After hearing Sylvia’s rumour that Osvaldo spent the night with Nieves, Pedro goes looking for him with Luis Fernando. While waiting outside, Pedro tells Luis Fernando that he saw Gabriel kissing someone inside the community centre. However, the woman was Kiara. When Sylvia alerts Kiara and Gabriel that Luis and Pedro are outside, Kiara asks Gabriel to leave through the back door, but he insists that Pedro already saw him enter through the front gate.
Minutes later, Luis and Pedro see Gabriel walking past them, causing Luis to question Pedro’s information as they both wonder whether Gabriel came to see Sylvia or Kiara. Inside the house, Sylvia angrily reprimands Kiara for spreading the lie about Osvaldo and Nieves merely to hurt Pedro. She also warns Kiara that if their involvement with Gabriel is discovered, she will blame her to protect herself.
🔹️ Pedro tells Luis Fernando that he suspects Genaro is stealing from Domenica. His suspicions are soon strengthened when Prudencio informs Domenica that Genaro billed the estate for thirty kilograms of feed per horse each day, even though a horse consumes no more than twelve kilograms. Ernesto also reveals that investigator Longoria found no record connecting Max’s photograph to the name MartÃn González López. Instead, the records show that he has used the name Máximo Langur de la Vega for eight years, confirming that he changed his identity. Domenica and Prudencio agree to secure all the physical receipts before confronting Genaro.
🔹️ Pedro finally confronts a drunken Osvaldo over Nieves. Osvaldo taunts him, claims that Nieves belongs to him and pulls out a handgun. After the weapon is accidentally fired, Luis Fernando quickly disarms him and forces him and his gang to flee. Luis Fernando later returns the gun to Osvaldo’s father, Gabriel, who is horrified to learn that Genaro gave the weapon to his son. He then threatens to expose Genaro’s dangerous influence over Osvaldo. Meanwhile, Blanca receives several messages from Ernesto but deliberately refuses to respond, believing that ignoring him will make him miss her. However, she eventually sends him a firm message declaring that she is not a trophy to be won and discarded. She orders him never to contact her again, despite being visibly conflicted by her feelings.
🔹️ Determined to prevent any further delays, Nicolasa and Prudencio pressure Father Serafin into marrying them immediately. A few minutes later, all their loved ones gather outside the church. Prudencio emotionally asks Pedro to stand beside him at the altar, not only as his principal witness but also as the son he holds in his heart. Deeply moved by his request, Pedro tearfully accepts. Accompanied down the aisle by Domenica, Nicolasa exchanges heartfelt vows with Prudencio as they reflect on finding love again after years of distance. Prudencio presents the rings that once belonged to him and his late wife, Paola, and the couple are finally joined in marriage before their emotional family and friends.
🔹️ After the church ceremony, Luis Fernando respectfully declines to attend the reception at La Abandonada because of his unresolved history with Domenica. Hurt by his decision, Domenica reacts sharply and gives Panfilo strict instructions concerning who may enter the estate. Kiara also attempts to persuade Luis to ride with her, but he rejects her advances. The celebration continues at La Abandonada, where Pedro delivers a touching toast to the newlyweds. Domenica then surprises Nicolasa and Prudencio by giving them a plot of land on the estate where they can build their own home, assuring them that they will always remain part of her family. Overwhelmed with gratitude, the couple embrace her as everyone applauds.
🔹️ Elsewhere, at Luis’s estate, Max corners Mercedes and demands that she travel to Mexico City to withdraw the fraud complaint against him so that he can continue pursuing Domenica. Mercedes refuses to be intimidated and reminds him that she can expose his true identity to the authorities at any moment because she has far less to lose than he does. Just then, their heated confrontation is interrupted when Luis Fernando enters and demands to know what is happening and how his mother knows the scumbag Max.
