Tia Mowry pulls back the curtain in her unscripted series Tia Mowry: My Next Act, landing on Bravo Africa (DStv 124) on Sunday, 29 March at 7 PM, with new episodes every Sunday until 17 May 2026.

Dan Povenmire, along with his friend and colleague Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, created Phineas and Ferb back in 1993. A mere 15 years later it was picked up by the Disney Channel and has fast become one of their most popular shows, picked up bucket loads of awards, and been seen by an estimated 289 million people worldwide. As a result, it isn’t a surprise that the series is being revived for a bunch of new episodes that fans will finally get to watch this summer to relive the original’s magic.
However, things might have been almost entirely different, as the series was initially pitched to Nickelodeon, who turned it down whilst it was in development. In an interview, Povenmire and Marsh confirmed they had pitched the series to Nickelodeon, who rejected it before Disney picked it up. Here is what the creators had to say about Nickelodeon rejecting Phineas and Ferb.
The series follows step-brothers Phineas and Ferb, who embark on various adventures during their summer vacation, while trying to keep their sister from interfering with their plans. Meanwhile, their pet platypus, Perry the Platypus, plots against evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
Phineas and Ferb started life as a simple doodle Dan Povenmire made during a visit to a restaurant. Povenmire fleshed it out into a concept for a full series with the help of Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. However, the duo’s early attempts to pitch the series to different networks, including Nickelodeon failed.
In an interview with Animation World Network, Povenmire admitted that the series was turned down by two of the biggest children’s networks at the time, saying "I’ve got a pitch over at Cartoon Network. I’ll dust it back off and pitch it to them; if they say no, I’ll dust it off and pitch it to Nickelodeon." However, that did not discourage the duo from sticking to their original idea.
Povenmire explained that one of the main reasons he and Marsh did not give up on the idea was because it was a concept they had the most faith in, having originally conceived it during their time on the hit animated series The Simpsons, as a means to allow themselves to work together as writers.
In a separate interview, Povenmire explained the primary issues Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network had with the series, resulting in them turning it down. The co-creator revealed that most networks felt the series’ multiple ongoing storylines in a single episode were seen as too complex for younger viewers.
"We pitched it everywhere, absolutely everywhere you could possibly pitch it and a few extra places beyond that. It always got a good response, everybody like it," Povenmire said to Skwigly, admitting that while networks had a positive reaction to their pitch, they found it slightly complicated.
Furthermore, the co-creator revealed that their pitch being rejected for several years benefitted them as it allowed the duo to evolve and mature over time. As a result, their focus changed after having their own children. Therefore, the duo tweaked their original pitch to make it more suitable for kids, which resulted in the final version impressing audiences across the globe.
Academy Award-nominated French animation studio Xilam Animation (I Lost My Body) has greenlit production of a milestone ninth season of its flagship non-dialog comedy franchise, Oggy and the Cockroaches, one of the longest running French animated series. Commissioned by returning French broadcaster France Télévisions, the new season (78 x 7’) is slated for delivery between Q3 2027 and Q2 2028 in celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary in 2028.
Including its spin-off series, the franchise spans over 700 episodes. First created by Jean Yves Raimbaud in 1997 and driven by author and director Olivier Jean Marie for over 20 years, Oggy and the Cockroaches has helped launch the careers of many notable talents in today’s French animation scene.
The new season will be directed by Julien Daubas (Oggy and the Cockroaches: The Movie, Asterix and Obelix: The Big Fight) and Lucas Pinatel (Zig & Sharko, Submarine Jim).

MTV has pulled the plug on its long-running reality series Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, a revival of the original Jersey Shore.
The network, which is currently undergoing a massive overhaul, announced the news Wednesday in a press release, calling the forthcoming season its last.
“This farewell season marks the culmination of a franchise that entertained millions with major life milestones, laugh-out-loud chaos, and the unfiltered chemistry that defined an era of reality television,” the press release read. “The ‘Shore’ family is going bigger than ever, celebrating the moments that made this franchise a cultural phenomenon.”
Premiering Thursday, May 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, the 18-episode season will be “packed with fist-pump-worthy milestones and unforgettable moments, from pregnancies and baby showers to bachelorette parties, gender reveals, ab reveals, births, birthdays, weddings, and more.”
However, within hours of Wednesday’s announcement, Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino insisted the series is simply changing networks. “Legends don’t retire — they reroute,” he wrote on X. “The network changed. The legacy didn’t. Jersey Shore is forever. Just wait until you see what’s next.”

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation debuted in 2018, bringing back a majority of the core cast of the six-season series Jersey Shore, including breakout star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Mike Sorrentino, Paul DelVecchio, Jenni Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Nicole Cortese and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.
The original series ran from 2009 to 2012, and followed the lives of a group of housemates as they spent their summers partying, working, and living together in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
Just last month, Snooki told fans she had been diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer and would likely undergo a hysterectomy.

“Obviously not the news that I was hoping for,” she said in a TikTok video in between medical appointments, “but also not the worst news, just because they caught it so early, thank freaking God.”
The show’s cancelation comes months after the cable network, a subdivision of the Paramount Media Networks under Paramount Skydance, shuttered its 24/7 music networks worldwide after 44 years. Paramount has undergone massive changes in recent months, following its $8 billion merger with Skydance Media last August. Months later, the company reportedly laid off 2,000 staffers —10 percent of its total workforce.
That same month, MTV axed its mainstay series, Ridiculousness, after reports revealed that creator and host Rob Dyrdek was being paid $32 million per year for his work on the show.
At the time, Deadline reported that the company planned to refresh its programming and give MTV a facelift going forward amid the merger.
